Birmingham system re-configuration consultation
« on: August 30, 2013, 01:51:45 PM »
Hi all

You have probably seen this on Daily DrugScope but no harm bringing it to your attention again.  May be more relevant to people in that area but good to see a more open consultation process than usual and I am sure we all have some points to make

It  is important that people contribute to this exercise, particularly in ensuring that the hard won improvements that in treatment that have come about in the last ten years and that people like The Alliance have been instrumental in delivering.

oh I've contributed alright, don't think my answers & comments will be much appreciated though. I don't see any improvements in the last 10 yrs though. Just a bunch of PBR cowboys who are only in it for the money taking over from the highly trained & qualifyed NHS staff who used to do the job properly.

It bis some years since I have been in Birmingham, I might take a trip to see the wonderful looking new library. As far as I am aware many of the services are still run by the NHS. Although how long that will last is anyone's guess

Ken - thanks for posting this.

All - please take the 5 minutes required to fill this in, it could have an important affect on the way that treatment is run.

Have filled this in.  I hope everyone makes the effort to do so.  Whether responses are looked at properly and taken into account is another matter but take very opportunity to take part in any consultation offered!

I think several of the agencies have been taken over by CRI type operations, Ken will know more?

They are in Walsall, Dudley, Solihull and Redditch (which isn't really part of Brum, but is near). They seem to be trying for world domination!!

I had a rumour about this a few weeks ago now, that all shared care patients were going to be sent back to their DSP's.
